Easson, Jones and Mahoney Earn SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Hailee Easson (Morrisville) as its Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, Maggie Jones (Morrisville) as the Goaltender of the Week and Katie Mahoney (Cortland) is the Rookie of the Week.

Easson had a four-point week for the Mustangs, beginning the week with a two-point performance against Alvernia on Tuesday. The junior collected an assist on the fourth score of the game, before netting a short handed tally late in the contest. She followed with a two-point outing in the 3-2 SUNYAC win over Canton on Friday, assisting the game tying score early in the third before collecting an assist on the game winner with under a minute remaining in the tightly matched contest. Easson finished with a +3 on-ice rating for the week, collectively netting one goal and assisting three others.

Jones collected 32 stops in the 3-2 SUNYAC win over Canton on Friday night, registering a .941 save percentage on the night as she posted double figure saves in two periods of action. Jones collected 11 saves in the opening period before turning away 14 more in the second, adding seven in the third to secure the win.

Mahoney helped lead 15th-ranked Cortland to a pair of SUNYAC home wins versus Buffalo State last weekend, scoring four points on one goal and three assists, while winning 14-of-22 face-offs and finishing with a +2 rating. She tallied a goal and two assists, won seven face-offs in had a +3 rating in a 9-0 victory on Friday. Mahoney then assisted on Cortland's third goal in a 3-1 victory on Saturday. For the season, she has 10 points on five goals and five assists with a +8 rating.
