Snook, Nease and Pazmandi Earn SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks Desiree Snook from Caton as this week's Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Plattsburgh teammates Lilla Nease and Zsofia Pazmandi have been named the Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Snook posted two goals and one assist leading the Roos to a weekend sweep against Stevenson on Friday and Saturday. She had a hand in all three of Canton's goals in a 3-1 win v. the Mustangs on Saturday. She had the primary assist on Canton's first goal of the game. Snook tallied the eventual game-winner at 2:46 of the second period and added a crucial insurance goal at 4:20 of the third period. Snook also had a huge week in the faceoff circle going 21-29 and finished the week with a +3 on-ice rating.

No. 4 Plattsburgh State won the Cardinal/Panther Classic for the first time since 2016 thanks to the effort from Tournament MVP Lilla Nease, who won both games in goal for the Cardinals, stopping 60 total shots for a .968 save percentage on the weekend. The graduate student goalie began the weekend making 23 saves in a 6-1 win over No. 9 UW-Eau Claire to advance the Cards to the championship game. Nease was even more excellent there, making a career-high 37 saves against No. 5 Middlebury to earn the MVP award for the tournament.

This is Pazmandi's third time being honored as the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week this season. She posted a three-goal weekend for the Cardinals, en route to an All-Tournament team selection and a Cardinal/Panther Classic Championship. Pazmandi tallied the first two scores in the 6-1 win over No. 9 UW-Eau Claire and then added an empty-net goal to seal the team's championship win over No. 5 Middlebury. For the weekend, she finished +3 and put up seven shots.
