SUNYAC Announces Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC recognizes Kendal Kalinowski from Morrisville as the Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, Magalie Parent from Potsdam as the Goaltender of the Week and Emily Kasprzak from Plattsburgh as the Rookie of the Week.

Kalinowski led Morrisville to a 2-0 weekend with a total four goals, including a hat trick performance. She began the weekend with a goal, the game winner, in a 4-1 defeat of the Bengals Friday, finishing with a +2 on-ice rating for the contest. She followed with a hat trick performance in Saturday's 7-2 win over Buffalo State, again recording the game winner, while collecting a +1 rating. One of her tallies was a power play score. Kalinowski's hat trick was the first of her collegiate career.

Parent held the powerful offense of No. 2 Plattsburgh State to three goals in two contests for a 1.50 Goals-Against-Average and a .963 save percentage. On Friday, she made 30 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Cardinals. On Saturday, Parent made a career-high 49 stops in a 1-0 loss. While her counterpart allowed just one goal on the weekend, she faced just 31 total shots in the two games combined.

Kasprzak notched the game-winning goal for the Cardinals in Friday's win against Potsdam, as the first-year forward tallied her fifth goal of the season and her third game-winner.
