Orr, Goergan and Kopek Recognized with SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC names Plattsburgh's Bridget Orr the Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Cortland teammates Molly Goergen and Drew Kopek are the Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Orr powered the Plattsburgh offense over the weekend, scoring three of the team's four goals in two, 2-1 wins over SUNY Canton. The junior forward scored the game's opening goal on Friday and then scored both goals in Saturday's win, less than two minutes apart from each other in game time. Orr was a +1 overall for the weekend and had five total shots on goal.

Goergen takes the Goaltender of the Week nod for the fourth time this season after she posted a 0.49 GAA and .977 save percentage during Cortland's two-game weekend sweep at Potsdam. On Saturday she made 19 saves for her fifth shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over the Bears. The previous night she allowed only one goal, scored after a turnover led to an open net, and made 24 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory. For the season, Goergen is 11-4-2 with a 1.11 GAA and a .960 save percentage in 17 starts.

Kopek registered a goal and an assist in Cortland's 5-0 win at Potsdam Saturday. She was plus-2 in the game and plus-1 the previous night in a 2-1 overtime win versus the Bears. Kopek has five goals and five assists in 20 games this season.
