Cortland Tops 2023 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland women's lacrosse was picked to finish the 2023 season first in the SUNYAC as voted on by the conference coaches. Geneseo was voted to finish second and Brockport followed at No. 3.

Cortland won its second-straight and 23rd overall women's lacrosse conference title in 2022. The Red Dragons went on to the NCAA DIII Tournament where they made it to the third round defeating Western Connecicute State (18-8) and Roger Williams (14-11), but fell to TCNJ, 13-6. Cortland ended last season 17-5 overall.

Geneseo will look to win its first-ever SUNYAC championship title in 2023. In 2022 the Knights made it to the conference semifinals, but lost to Cortland, 16-14. Geneseo earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament beating Saint Joseph's (Me.) in the first round, 19-2, but lost to Middlebury in the second round. The team finished last season 15-4 overall.

Brockport was the third seed going into the 2022 SUNYAC championship tournament and advanced to the semifinals. The Golden Eagles finished last season 11-6 overall.

Women's lacrosse conference competition will begin March 25 and the 2023 SUNYAC women's lacrosse championship tournament will begin April 29th with first round games hosted by No. 3 & No. 4 seeds. The semifinals and final are set for May 3rd & 6th at the top seeds. Full Bracket
