SYRACUSE, N.Y. - New Paltz teammates Kaitlyn Shaw and Ella Malanga have been selected the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Shaw led her team offensively in both wins this week, totaling a career-high six goals with two assists for eight points in a 17-6 victory over Potsdam where she eclipsed the 100-goal mark for her career, joining just seven other Hawks. She followed up that performance with a four goal, one assist day in a 15-3 win over Buffalo State. She also set a new career-high in draw controls with eight against the Bears, and adding six against the Bengals while totaling six ground balls and a caused turnover in the two outings combined.

Malanga led the Hawks with six caused turnovers this past weekend and 10 ground balls as SUNY New Paltz won two games on the week over Potsdam and Buffalo State with its defense holding both teams to six goals or less on just 21 shots on goal with Malanga a huge part of the team's stingy defensive performance.
