SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Fredonia teammates Erin Woods and Sadie Brown have been picked as the first 2023 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Woods led Fredonia to a 2-0 start to the season with wins over Grove City and Thiel. She had 10 goals and three assists in the two contests. In an 11-9 win over Grove City, she scored twice and had three assists. Her third goal came at the start of the fourth quarter, putting the Devils up for good, 8-7. Woods dominated early against Grove City, scoring three of the team's first five goals as they built a 5-1 lead. They would win 20-11.

Brown led the Fredonia defense to two wins this past week. The Devils outscored their opponents 31-20 in two games. Brown was credited with five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
