Geneseo Picked No. 1 in 2024 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Geneseo women's lacrosse was picked to finish the 2024 season first in the SUNYAC as voted on by the conference coaches. Cortland was voted to finish second and Brockport followed at No. 3.

Geneseo won it's first-ever SUNYAC championship title in 2023, defeating Cortland, 9-11. The Knights advanced to the NCAA tournament, but lost to Middlebury in the first round, 19-4. The team finished the season 15-5 overall.

Cortland earned the No. 1 seed after regular season play, but fell short in the championship game. The Red Dragons earned an at-large bid into the NCAA DIII Tournament, but lost to Tufts in the second round. The Red Dragons ended the 2023 season 14-5 overall and will look to win their 24th overall women's lacrosse conference title in 2024.

Brockport was the fourth seed going into the 2023 SUNYAC championship tournament and advanced to the semifinals. The Golden Eagles finished last season 8-8 overall. The team will look to win it's second-ever SUNYAC title in 2024.

Women's lacrosse conference competition will begin March 23 and the 2024 SUNYAC women's lacrosse championship tournament will begin April 27 with first round games hosted by the third and fourth seeds. The semifinals and final are set for May 1 and 4, hosted by the higher seeds.
