Plattsburgh's Lillian Gilroy Named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for Women's Lacrosse
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams were released on Tuesday with Lillian Gilroy (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) of the women's lacrosse team earning honors. Gilroy will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, where teams will be announced on July 16.
The Academic All-District At-Large teams honor NCAA sports that do not have a designated program currently. To be eligible for the ballot as a lacrosse student-athlete, nominees must have competed in 90% of the team's total games and also be at least a sophomore academically and carry a cumulative 3.50 GPA.
Gilroy, a studio art major carrying a 3.86 cumulative GPA, is coming off a season in which she earned All-Conference Third team honors. The sophomore set program records for draw controls in a single game (13 vs. Oneonta on Apr. 17) and for a single season with 60 on the year. She also tallied four points on two goals and two assists, while also scooping up 25 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers.
The women's lacrosse team finished 4-11 on the year and 3-6 in league play, closing their season with a 12-7 on the road against Potsdam.
