Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Selected

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its swimming and diving weekly award winners for performances during the week of October 31 - November 7. 

Swimming and Diving Female Diver of the Week - Meghan Bartlett, Fredonia
(Senior, - Johnstown, N.Y.)
Bartlett was a double-winner as Fredonia traveled to Geneseo on Nov. 5. Scored 278.65 points off the 1-meter board and 294.10 points off the 3-meter board. She has been victorious in seven of eight events she entered this season, her only setback to a Fredonia teammate in the opening meet of the year vs. Division 1 Niagara.

Swimming and Diving Female Swimmer of the Week - Alyssa Greymont, Buffalo State
(Fr, Distance - Morgan Hill, CA)
In her third meet as a Bengal, Greymont bettered her own school and Kissinger Pool records in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:52.55 (21st in Division III) in a dual meet against Pitt-Bradford. She also set the Kissinger Pool mark in the 400 IM with a winning time of 4:56.67.

Swimming and Diving Male Diver of the Week - Arron Carlson, Fredonia
(Senior, - LeRoy, N.Y.)
Carlson remained unbeaten this season with his seventh and eighth victories Saturday at Geneseo. In a matchup of two All-American divers, Carlson defeated Geneseo's Samuel Randall with scores of 335.25 points off the 1-meter board and 340.95 points off the 3-meter board. Randall won the NCAA 3-meter title last year, while Carlson was national runner-up in the 1-meter.

Swimming and Diving Male Swimmer of the Week -Connor Mergler, Buffalo State
(Jr, Sprints - E. Amherst, N.Y.)
Mergler set the Kissinger Pool record in the 100 back on the opening leg of the 400 medley relay (53.62), and he also one the 100 back later in the meet in 54.50 seconds in a dual meet against Pitt-Bradford on Saturday. He added a win in the 50 free, clocking 21.28 seconds which is the 10th-best time in Division III this season.
