FREDONIA, N.Y. - Oswego State junior forward Hayden Ward has been named the SUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2012.
Ward averaged 16.5 points per game off 58.8 percent (10-of-17) shooting from the floor and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) shooting from the charity stripe, helping the Lakers clinch the No. 1-seed in the upcoming playoffs. In addition, he shot 80 percent (4-of-5) from long range. Ward scored 13 points in just 23 minutes of action in a 68-55 win over Oneonta on Friday. He followed up his performance against the Red Dragons with a 20-point explosion against New Paltz on Saturday, lifting the Lakers to a 92-68 victory. Against the Hawks, he shot 7-of-10 from the floor, which included a 3-of-4 mark from distance.
