
Morrow, Kaine and Zotter Earn SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC choses Brendan Morrow from Canton, Jameson Kaine from Fredonia and Nolan Zotter from Canton as its Men's Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.
Morrow recorded two goals and an assist with a +2 on-ice rating leading the Roos to a 2-0 record on the weekend against Framingham State. He also went 32-for-46 on faceoffs (.696 win %) on the weekend. The captain opened the weekend scoring once at 13:19 of the second period to put the Roos up 3-0 en route to a 4-1 win against the Rams on Friday winning 18 of 24 draws. Morrow closed out the weekend assisting the team's first goal and scoring their second in a 4-2 win, while going 14-for-22 on faceoffs on Saturday.
Kaine gave up just one goal while making 29 saves in his collegiate debut in a 2-1 win over Potsdam on Saturday. The lone score came on a Power Play, and he survived four other man-advnatage challenges. He played all 60 minutes and recorded a .967 save percentage.
Zotter scored three goals recording a +3 on-ice rating leading the Roos to a 2-0 record on the weekend against Framingham State. He scored twice on two shots including the eventual game-winner in a 4-1 win against the Rams on Friday night. With the Roos ahead 3-2 against Framingham State on Saturday Zotter scored an insurance goal with just less than two minutes remaining to help the team secure the win and weekend sweep in a 4-2 win.
