Feature Friday: Geneseo student-athletes "Walk it Out" at the 12th annual Teresa House Comfort Care Walk

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Teresa House is a comfort or hospice care home for the terminally ill located in Geneseo, N.Y. The house is individually owned meaning they do not receive any state or federal aid. For that reason, they rely on community resources, donations and fundraising to keep the house open and continue their help to those in need.

Earlier this month, over 200 Geneseo student-athletes, led by their Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), joined the Teresa House to help run the 12th annual Teresa House Comfort Care Walk.

The Teresa House representatives and Geneseo student-athletes were both very excited with the outcome of the walk. They shared their appreciation for the other and recognized how much teaming together helped support their cause. Teresa House Comfort Care Walk co-chair, Kristen Scoville, claimed, "To have the athletes here is such a boon for us." She also recognizes their presence while walking through town. "They're loud, they're vibrant and they're young and for them to be here is just so important for us."

Geneseo SAAC President and senior on the women's lacrosse team, Rachel Fisher, feels that it's very important for the student-athletes to show support and be active in the community that is filled with people always showing up to games and events to support them.
