Last Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week announced for 2018 season

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced it's final selections for Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week for the 2018 season.

Cortland's Hailey Dobbins has been chosen as the Defensive Athlete of the Week. The junior defender helped lead Cortland to a pair of home conference wins last week with one goal, one assist, six ground balls, 11 draw controls and three caused turnovers. In a 16-13 win versus Brockport on Tuesday, Dobbins won six draws and caused one turnover. She followed up that performance by doing a little of everything, recording a goal and an assist as well as six ground balls, five draws and two caused turnovers in an 18-6 win versus Buffalo St. on Saturday. For the season, Dobbins has team highs of 45 ground balls, 60 draws and 30 caused turnovers.

Oneonta's Taylor Casey has been chosen as the Offensive Athlete of the Week. Casey compiled 13 points last week in a pair of SUNYAC wins against Potsdam and Fredonia. Versus Potsdam, Casey registered five goals on an efficient .86 SOG% and recorded an assist as well. The senior attacker followed up by notching seven more goals in a 22-7 victory against Fredonia. Casey has now become only the third player in program history to reach 200 career goals. After her seven goals against Fredonia this past Saturday, she now has 207 career goals entering the SUNYAC tournament.
