Geneseo Picked No. 1 in 2023 SUNYAC Softball Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Geneseo, the 2022 SUNYAC softball champions, takes the No. 1 spot in the 2023 preaseason poll while Cortland was voted No. 2 followed by Oneonta.

The Knights won their second-straight and fourth overall SUNYAC softball team title last season after beating Cortland in the championship. Geneseo earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament and went 0-2, finishing the season 34-6 overall.

Cortland will play to take back the SUNYAC crown this season after winning five titles in the last ten years and 16 overall. The Red Dragons ended the 2022 season 26-15 overall.

Oneonta was the No. 3 seed going into the SUNYAC post season in 2022. This season, the Red Dragons will look to win their first conference title since 2014. The team finished last season 22-13 overall.

The softball regular season conference games will start April 7 and the 2023 SUNYAC softball championship is set for May 4-7.
