SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Gina Meyers and Kimberly Westenberg have been selected as this week's SUNYAC Softball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Meyers batted .611 (11-for-18) with three triples, a double, seven RBI, five runs and two steals in a 5-0 week for the Red Dragons. She finished 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in a win over Mt. Aloysius, was 3-for-5 with a triple, RBI and two runs in a victory versus Mississippi University for Women, and was 2-for-3 with three RBI in a win over Susquehanna, all in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI in a win over Muhlenberg and was 1-for-3 with a triple in a win versus Albertus Magnus.

Westenberg went 3-0 with a 1.34 ERA and 15 strikeouts and no walks in 15 and two thirds inning pitched during three appearances for the Red Dragons in South Carolina. She tossed a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks in a six-inning, 8-0 win over Albertus Magnus on Monday. On Thursday, she started and went the distance in a 6-4 win over Muhlenberg, giving up three earned runs and striking out six with no walks, then entered in relief less than an hour later and earned a win with two and two thirds inning of two-hit ball with three strikeouts, no walks and one earned run allowed in an 11-7 victory over Mississippi University for Women. Westenberg also shined at the plate during the week, hitting .476 (10-for-21) with 10 RBI.
