Elmer Named 2022 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is honored to recognize Brockport's Morgan Elmer as the 2022 Women's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year as nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors.

Elmer held a 4.0 GPA this spring and has a 3.90 cumulative GPA as a communications major. She is now a two-time IWLCA All-American after being recognized on the second team in 2022. Elmer is also a two-time SUNYAC All-Conference First Team member and a two-time IWLCA All-Region First Team selection. This season she finished with an 11-6 record in goal and led the league with a .562 save percentage. Elmer was second in the conference with 186 saves and a 9.59 goals-against average.

During each season, the conference honors student-athletes for their efforts in their sport, as well as their academics. Out of hundreds of spring athletes, one athlete from each sport was selected for this distinction. In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore. The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
