The Red Dragons won their 16th consecutive game, improving to 17-4 on the season, and advance to face The College of New Jersey in the third round next Saturday. The Hawks concluded their season at 16-2.

The Hawks jumped out to a 3-1 lead just past the midway point of the first quarter as Beck scored twice and Cunningham netted a goal. Cortland closed the quarter on a four-goal run from four different players to take a 5-3 advantage after the first 15 minutes of action. Lorenzen opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals to push the Red Dragons' lead to 7-3. Cunningham then answered with a pair of goals, and the teams traded the next five goals for a 10-7 Cortland lead at the half.

The Hawks pulled to within 11-9 after the third quarter, but Meager and Cashman scored goals less than two minutes apart early in the fourth quarter to make it a 13-9 game. Cunningham and Beck each netted free-position goals, cutting Cortland's lead to 13-11 with 5:06 remaining. After a Roger Williams timeout, Beck won the ensuing draw and had two shots, one wide and one saved by Potter. The teams then traded turnovers before Cortland worked a good clear. The Red Dragons called timeout with 2:04 on the clock but turned the ball over with 1:23 to play. On the Roger Williams clear, Hopsicker forced a turnover and she netted her second goal of the game off a Lorenzen assist with 16 seconds remaining to seal the 14-11 win.
