SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) recognizes New Paltz's Kaitlyn Shaw and Brockport's Morgan Elmer as the PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.
In both the Hawks wins this week, Shaw led the way on both sides of the field. She scored a team-leading five goals in both wins, while tallying a career-high six points against Farmingdale with five goals and one assist with one ground ball. Against Hartwick Saturday, Shaw again tallied five goals to go along with a team-leading four ground balls and one caused turnover.
Elmer came up with 15 saves to help #16 Brockport defeat #12 Denison, 15-11, in the team's season opener. Elmer also contributed two caused turnovers and scooped up two ground balls. The Golden Eagles begin the season 1-0 after last weeks win over another nationally ranked opponent.
