SYRACUSE, N.Y. - New Paltz's Rachel Eisert repeats as the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week and Cortland's Jillian Nicolosi is the Defensive Athlete of the Week
Eisert led the Hawks to two more wins on the week to stay unbeaten in SUNYAC play, while pushing their winning streak to six games. She scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 rout of visiting Plattsburgh Wednesday. She tallied two shots in an efficient 55 minutes of play. She registered five shots, four on target, in 79 minutes on the pitch.
Nicolosi played a vital role in helping Cortland to a pair of shutout victories in 2-0 week, while also adding two assists to spark the offense. The sophomore was a key member of the back line for the Red Dragon defense that held Morrisville without a shot attempt in a 7-0 victory on Saturday. She also assisted on Cortland's second and third goals with a pair of lofted passes over the top of the defense. Nicolosi also played all 90 minutes in the back line for Cortland in a 1-0 shutout victory at Fredonia on Wednesday afternoon.
