NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - New Paltz beat Cortland, 2-0, to win its second overall SUNYAC women's soccer championship, Saturday at South Turf Field. The Hawks won their first crown in 2011. With the win New Paltz earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DIII tournament.
Rachel Eisert was named the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Tournament MVP. The senior midfielder had one goal and one assist in two shutouts to help the Hawks win the SUNYAC championship title.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
Cortland's Keara Johnson is this year's SUNYAC Women's Soccer Elite 20 award winner. Johnson is a junior physical education major with a 3.96 overall GPA.
