Plattsburgh Voted 2023 SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Coaching Staff of the Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC announces Plattsburgh as the recipient of the 2023 Men's Ice Hockey Coaching Staff of the Year award, which is voted on by the conference coaches.

Steve Moffat is in his fourth year as Plattsburgh's head coach and is assisted by Reid Lesswing and Billy Corbo. The Cardinals finished regular season conference play 12-3-1 to take the No. 2 seed going into the SUNYAC tournemant. Plattsburgh defeated No. 3 Geneseo in the semifinals, 5-1, to advance to the title game. The team went on to beat No. 1 Oswego, 2-1, to win its first SUNYAC men's ice hockey crown since 2017 and the program's 24th overall. With the victory, Plattsburgh earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division lll tournament. The Cardinals (20-5-2), seeded No. 6, will host No. 9 Norwich University in the first round on Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m. at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
