Krauseneck Honored with SUNYAC Dr. Dolores Bogard Award

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC honors Plattsburgh's women's ice hockey student-athlete, Sara Krauseneck with the 2023 Dr. Dolores Bogard Award as nominated and voted on by the member institutions. This award is presented annually to a senior athlete with the best combination of academic and athletic ability with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30.

Krauseneck, a senior forward holds a 3.71 overall GPA as a Biology major. She was the 2023 SUNY Women's Ice Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year, an AHCA Second-Team All-America (2022-23, 2021-22), named to the First-Team All-Northeast Hockey Women's League (NEHWL) (2022-23, 2021-22, 2019-20) and the NEWHL Tournament MVP (2022-23, 2019-20). Krauseneck finished the 2022-23 season riding a 12-game point streak and led the NEWHL in points (41) while ranking second in goals (20) and fourth in assists (21). She helped Plattsburgh win four NEWHL titles in addition to the 2019 national championship during her time with the Cardinals. Krauseneck also helped Plattsburgh make three of its 10 consecutive NCAA Tournament semifinal appearances. She is a Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society member and was named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll (2021-22, 2020-21, 2019-20, 2018-19).

Dr. Dolores Bogard was an administrator and coach at Cortland for over twenty years. She served as SUNYAC President during the 1987-88 year. Click here to see past winners.
