Reitano-Stayer and Buchanan Picked for SUNYAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Isabel Reitano-Stayer from Geneseo has been selected the SUNYAC Field Hockey Offenisve Athlete of the Week while Ella Buchanan from Brockport was named the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Freshman forward Reitano-Stayer led the offensive for the Knights this week. In a win over Nazareth she scored one goal and ended with two total points and in their conference win against Morrisville she scored one goal, two assists and tallied 4 points on the game.

Buchanan earns her second conference weekly award after she finished the week 1-1 against No. 19 Cortland and a win over Ithaca, its first over the Bombers since 2011. Against Ithaca, Buchanan made a career-high 31 saves in the game only allowing one goal in the team's 2-1 victory. She finished with a .969 save percentage. Against Cortland, Buchanan recorded the second my saves in a game in her career when she recorded 17 saves against the Red Dragons finishing the game with a .810 save percentage. In total, Buchanan recorded 48 saves in two games finishing the week with a .908 save percentage. Buchanan now ranks second in the conference in saves (66), save percentage (.846), minutes (400:46) and is tied for the most wins in the conference (5).
