Staats and Haber Named SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Zoe Staats from Cortland as this week's Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week whiel Geneseo's Emily Haber was named the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Staats earns her third SUNYAC weekly honor after she helped Cortland win two road matches to clinch the conference regular-season title. She registered 17 kills, including 13 over the final three sets, as Cortland rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win a five-set thriller at New Paltz Saturday. Staats also had seven kills on Friday in a three-set win at Oneonta. For the week, Staats hit .346 with 24 kills and six errors in 52 attempts.

Haber earns her fourth weekly conference honor of the 2022 season after she led the Knights defensive effort last weekend, tallying an impressive mark of 8.29 digs per set. Haber, a senior libero, recorded 40 digs in a four-set win over Buffalo State, good enough for second all-time in program history for a four-set match. She followed it up with 18 digs in a three-set win over Fredonia.
