SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Lucas Fecci from Oneonta and Vincent Maronski Jr. from Geneseo have been selected as this week's Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.
Fecci helped Oneonta win two conference games and secure a first-round bye in the SUNYAC playoffs with three goals for six points. Against nationally 15th-ranked Cortland, Fecci single handedly gave Oneonta a 3-0 victory with three goals coming in the 33rd, 46th, and 79th minute for a hat trick. In Saturday's 3-2 victory versus Fredonia, Fecci aided the Red Dragon offense in ball control and pace of play, clinching the two seed.
Sophomore Maronski was defensively stellar for the Knights. In the 1-0 victory over Buffalo State, Maronski started in goal for the Knights and made two saves for the shutout win. Additionally, he finished with the 3-0 win over Potsdam, tallying five saves to preserve the clean sheet, his second-straight shutout in net.
