Delaney and Testo Named Field Hockey Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, NY – Oswego senior midfielder Megan Delaney and New Paltz freshman goalkeeper Davin Testo have been named the SUNYAC Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Delaney unleashed an 11-point barrage in a pair of victories to start the season, including a five-point effort in the season-opening 11-0 victory at Medaille on Sept. 2. In that victory, Delaney amassed seven points on two goals and three assists, tying the Oswego single-game mark for helpers. She also tied the mark for the second-most points ever registered in a single game by a Laker. On Sept. 3, Oswego opened its home schedule with a 5-0 blanking of Houghton that featured Delaney scoring a goal and adding a pair of assists for a four-point contest.

Testo earned the start for the Hawks in both games during the week. She played all 60 minutes in their season opener against Ramapo on Sept. 1, posting a 1-0 shutout while recording five saves. She was outstanding in net in the second and third periods when New Paltz was shorthanded. Testo started the first half of a 3-0 win over St. Lawrence on Sept. 3, recording one save in the opening half before departing the contest.
