SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Cortland's Simone Neivel and Fredonia's Sabrina Suriani as this week's Women's Soccer Athletes of Week.

Neivel, the Offenisve Athlete of the Week, helped lead Cortland (2-0-2) to a 1-0-1 record this past week, scoring six points on two goals and two assists. After a 0-0 tie versus Clarkson on Wednesday, Neivel was involved in all four goals in a 4-0 home win versus RPI on Saturday, recording two goals and two assists. She tallied goals in the 26th and 66th minutes and assisted on the game winner in the 17th minute and added another assist in the 51st minute. For the season, Neivel leads the Red Dragons with eight points on three goals and two assists.

Suriani, the Defensive Athlete of the Week, led Fredonia to a win and a tie over the weekend. She secured a 3-2 victory over Utica on Sept. 9 and a 2-2 tie vs. Ithaca on Sept. 10. The senior goalkeeper totaled twenty saves during the two non-conference games, recording eleven stops in the first and 9 in the second contest. Over both games, Suriani tallied a .833 save percentage.
