Brockport's Meyer Takes 2nd Place at Nationals in Pole Vault

Rochester, NY – At the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, Brockport's Dustin Meyer was the runner-up finisher in the men's pole vault. He completes his successful season as the No. 2 ranked pole vaulter in the country.
 
Starting the event off at 4.60m, Meyer cleared the first height on the first attempt. It then took two tries to clear both 4.75 and 4.90. Dustin then got up to clear 4.95m on the first attempt, which cemented his second place finish.
 
The national champion from Ithaca, Dominic Mikula, set a facility record at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex of 5.05m.
 
Meyer's big day comes off of national showings of two teammates on Thursday. Rebecca Heuler earned 15th with a 38.37m in the women's javelin. Mia Montgomery had a 5.03m to place 21st in the women's long jump.
 
The Golden Eagles season has now officially come to an end after their appearance at the NCAA Championships.
