Crockett Earns 2nd Top-20 Finish Nationally, Indoor Championships Come to a Close

Birmingham, AL – On Saturday, the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships ended down in Alabama as the two-day championship meet's final events were conducted.
 
Brockport's lone competitor on the day was Sarah Crockett, as she participated in the women's shot put event on the day.
 
With a distance of 13.01 meters, Crockett's mark earned her 18th in the event. She concludes the weekend with two top-20 finishes on the national stage, taking 18th in the weight throw on Friday with a 16.29.
 
This year at nationals the Golden Eagles had a total of four top-20 finishes from its five athletes that competed across six events.
 
Crockett's pair of top-20 performances was joined by Jonathan Zavala and Mia Montgomery on Friday.
 
Zavala ran a 4:09.48 to finish 13th in the men's mile event. Mia Montgomery leaped a distance of 5.44 meters in the long jump to earn 14th on the national stage.
 
The Golden Eagles have now completed the indoor track and field season, with the outdoor season fast approaching. They begin the outdoor season at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Friday, March 31st.
