GAME OF THE WEEK: CORTLAND BEATS ITHACA, 11-8

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Game of the Week is the women's lacrosse game between nationally 15th-ranked Cortland and 18th-ranked Ithaca on Saturday, March 2. In a comeback win, the Red Dragons were able to fight back from a 3-0 deficit against the Bombers. The Red Dragons went on a 4-0 scoring streak to end the first half with a 5-4 lead.

There were four lead changes at the beginning of the second half. Cortland ended the game by going on another 4-0 scoring streak, and walked away with a road victory against the Bombers with the final score of 11-8. The Red Dragons are now 1-0 overall to start their 2019 season. 
  
Player of the Game
Cortland senior Carly Stone (Syracuse, N.Y.) helped lead the team to victory with a totaled game-high of five points on two goals and three assists. The highlight of her performance came during a late goal to increase Cortland's lead to two, 10-8, and an assist on the final goal of the game with 1:54 left, which sealed the win.
