CORTLAND, N.Y. - The 2021 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) baseball preseason poll ranks Cortland at the top of the East division and Oswego at No. 1 in the West, as voted on by the conference coaches.
The SUNYAC will resume baseball conference play on March 30 after the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically the SUNYAC schedules a three-game series between each conference team during the regular season; however, to limit travel the conference has split into East/West divisions for 2021.
In 2019 Oswego won its second-straight SUNYAC baseball title. The Lakers also earned the automatic berth into the NCAA tournament as the regular season champion in 2017 after the conference championship was canceled due to weather. Cortland leads the league with 34 all-time conference titles. The Red Dragons won their last conference crown in 2016.
