SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) named Emily Pomainville from Geneseo the Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Oswego's Lindsay Fluman the Field Athlete of the Week to start off the 2021 season.
Pomainville highlighted the Knights' Early Season Invitational by setting a facility record in the 1500, clocking in at 4:35.57 to take first in the event. Her finishing time currently ranks third in all of NCAA Division III in the event. Pomainville also anchored the Knights' first-place 4x400 relay, running a 59.20 split in the final leg of the race.
Fluman had a busy day at the Cortland Cup in taking first place in the women's shot put with 9.89 meter (32' 5.5") winner. She returned to action with a second in the discus (31.19 meters, 102' 4"), fourth in the hammer throw (29.87 meters, 98') and a fifth in the javelin throw (19.04 meters, 62' 6").
