CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) shares a glimpse into A Day in the Life of Cortland's senior volleyball student-athlete Kiersten Cote. In 2019 she appeared in 31 matches including 95 sets recording 218 digs and 29 aces. She added six assists, three kills and three blocks as the defensive specialist/libero.
What is your major?
Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
What time do you typically wake up?
About 9am to get going before class begins at 11am.
What is one thing that you do (nearly) every day that keeps you on track for competition?
Workout and eat healthy!
What motivates you (to be the best in your sport)?
Having the blessing of being healthy enough to work out and play the game I love is enough to motivate me. I play for the people who can't.
How do you stay connected with your teammates?
We have a big group chat with all of us where we talk almost every day and now that we are back at school we are luckily able to get together again!
What is your top lunch choice?
Grilled chicken salad with avocado.
What time is practice?
Usually 4-6pm with a lift before or after
What class are you looking forward to or/enjoy most this semester?
I am really looking forward to taking my Physiology class this semester.
What helps you stay focused each day?
Having goals for my future allows me to focus each day.

How many hours a night do you typically sleep?
Sleep is really important for me so I usually make sure I get approximately 8 hours of sleep each night.
