CORTLAND, N.Y. - Geneseo won the 2021 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's outdoor track and field championship with 320 points, Saturday at Cortland's Stadium Complex. This is the Knights 13th overall SUNYAC women's outdoor track and field title. Brockport finished second while Cortland was third.
The SUNYAC awarded the Most Outstanding Performance and the Most Valuable Performer following the two-day championship. The Female Most Outstanding Performance, voted on by the coaches, was awarded to Emily Pomainville from Geneseo. With 35 points the Female Most Valuable Performer was awarded to Emily Lavarnway from Geneseo.
The All-Conference first, second and third teams consist of the top three finishers in each event.
Elite 20
The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year's winner is Fredonia's Eleanor Clarke a junior early childhood education major maintains a 3.96 GPA.
