CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland beat Geneseo, 11-8, to win the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's lacrosse championship, Friday at the Cortland Stadium Complex. This is Cortland's 27th overall men's lacrosse conference crown. With the win the Red Dragons earned an automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division III men's lacroose tournament.
Pat Doyen was named the Tournament MVP after leading the Red Dragons with four goals. Brian Williams picked up eight ground balls and Marc Esposito had 16 saves in goal for Cortland.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year's winner is Geneseo's Sean Byrne with a 3.63 GPA as a business administration major.
