2023 SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championships - Day 1

RESULTS

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The 2023 SUNYAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off Wednesday at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College (ECC). The championship will continue Thursday with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.

Geneseo men's and women's 200 yard medley relay teams broke the SUNYAC meet records en route to winning conference titles, Wednesday night. The women's team of Alexis Falvo, Lauren Sposili, Alise Hale and Kenzie Fischer finished first in 1:43.98. The men's team broke the record set in 2017 after the team of Jack Cimorelli, Jake Nielsen, Mark Crocker and Jordan Nielsen touched the wall first in 1:29.35.

Cortland's Ashley Zachgo won the women's 3 meter dive with a score of 480.15. She advanced to the finals with 452.20 points in prelims. 

The Knights swept the 800 free relay races with the women's team of Sposili, Abby Funk, Amaya Digiovanni and Kimberly MacDonald taking the crown with a time of 7:44.12. The men broke the conference record set in 1997 finishing the race in 6:44.48 (Sam Matthews, Griffin Merkling, Christopher Weber and Charlie Wangelin)

Geneseo leads the team rankings on both sides with the women totaling 123 points and the men 80 points.
