Cortland and Brockport to play for 2022 SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Title

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Top-seed and host Cortland topped No. 4 Geneseo, 3-0, Friday in the first SUNYAC women's volleyball semifinal match. No. 2 Brockport beat No. 3 New Paltz, 3-1, in the second semifinal match Friday night at Cortland's Whitney T. Corey Gymnasium.

The Cortland Red Dragons will host the championship match Saturday at 4 p.m. Cortland won the 2021 championship to capture their 20th overall conference crown, which leads the league. Brockport has nine overall conference titles and last won in 2019.

Elite 20 

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

Before the first semifinal game on Friday, the SUNYAC honored this year's women's volleyball winner Cortland's Mikenzie Martens a sophomore physical education major maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
