Cortland's Madigan and Van Denburg Tabbed Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland senior Abby Madigan has been named the SUNYAC Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week as well as the Doubles Team of the Week with teammate Vyda Van Denburg.
Madigan won at number one singles, 6-4, 6-4, during Cortland's 9-0 victory over visiting Brockport in the Red Dragons' season opener. She was also part of Cortland's winning first doubles team.
Madigan and Van Denburg won at first doubles, 8-4, during Cortland's 9-0 win over visiting Brockport in the Red Dragons' season opener. In addition, they both posted wins in singles play - Madigan at number one and Van Denburg at number three.
