Brockport's Heuler & Montgomery Take Their Turn at Nationals on Thursday

Rochester, NY – On Thursday, May 25th the NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships began, hosted by St. John Fisher. Brockport had two athletes competing on day one of the meet in Rebecca Heuler and Mia Montgomery.
 
Heuler was able to secure 15th place in the women's javelin throw event on the day with a distance of 38.37m. She dropped one spot from her 14th seed heading into nationals, which she recorded at 42.07m during the AARTFC Championships.
 
Montgomery took 21st in the women's long jump thanks to her distance of 5.03m. She has rewritten the school record twice this season for the event, including her national-qualifying distance of 5.81m to claim the SUNYAC Title.
 
Both Rebecca and Mia have their seasons come to an end after competing on the first day of the nationals. On Friday, teammate Dustin Meyer will have his chance to shine in the men's pole vault competition.
 
The action gets started at 10am at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher.
