Staats and Bowen Earn SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Zoe Staats from Cortland and Madalyn Bowen from Brockport earn their second SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week honors in 2022.

Staats averaged 4.3 kills per set and had a .571 attack percentage (26 kills, 2 errors in 42 attempts) during two Cortland three-set wins in SUNYAC play. She finished with 12 kills and no errors in 18 attempts (.667) in a win over visiting Fredonia on Friday and had 14 kills and two errors in 24 attempts (.500) in a sweep of visiting Buffalo State Saturday.

Bowen remains consistent as the Brockport libero this season, as the team went 2-1 in last week's action. In a 3-1 victory over Geneseo in SUNYAC play, she led all players with 26 digs and averaged 6.5 digs per set. In a tough loss to Ithaca, Bowen came up with 12 digs for an average of 4.0 per set. The Golden Eagles bounced back with a 3-0 win over Sage, where Madalyn had eight digs in the match. With a total of 253 digs on the season so far, she ranks second in the conference. Brockport stands at 13-4 overall and is undefeated at 3-0 in the SUNYAC.
