Rende and Reilly Honored with SUNYAC Volleyball Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has selected Kayla Rende from Oneonta and Emma Reilly from Cortland as the final 2022 Women's Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.
Senior Rende surpassed 1,000 career assists in Oneonta 1-1 weekend at the Dig Pink Invitational. She totaled 73 assists, 13 digs, two blocks, one ace, and a kill in seven sets. In the 3-0 sweep against Baruch, Rende recorded a match-high 29 assists while averaging 9.67 a set. Then in the 3-1 loss to Hartwick, Rende had 44 assists (11.00 per set) to reach 1,016 for her career, which is sixth most in the Oneonta record books.
Reilly averaged 1.5 blocks per set and also registered 19 kills and a .325 attack percentage in a 2-1 weekend for Cortland as the Red Dragons wrapped up the regular season. She had four blocks and five kills in a three-set win at regionally ranked Rowan Friday, followed on Saturday by five blocks and six kills in a four-set loss at Eastern University and six blocks, three solo, and eight kills in a three-set win versus Cabrini.
