Sawyer and Andrews Earn SUNYAC Most Outstanding Performance Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Buffalo State's Nat Sawyer and Geneseo Nick Andrews are being honored with the 2023 SUNYAC Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performance awards, which are voted on by the conference coaches. This award recognizes unique or objectively superior performances at the conference championship.

Sawyer, in her first outdoor season with the Bengals, broke the 10-year old conference championship record after winning the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.38) last week at the SUNYAC championship meet. She competed against three of the top six women in the country. She was also named Co-Most Valuable Performer totaling 22.5 points. She finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and was part of the 4x100 meter relay team that also finished second.

Andrews scored 28 points and was named the Most Valuable Performer at the 2023 SUNYAC meet. He was the SUNYAC champion in the 1,500 (3:51.54) and the 5,000 (15:07.84) and he finished second in the 10,000 meters (31:00.82).
