McFadden and Marafioti named Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its top Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week for women's lacrosse. The winners were selected from nominations across the conference.

Geneseo's own Tess McFadden is this week's Defensive Athlete of the Week. The native from Pleasantville, N.Y. backstopped a 2-0 week as Geneseo improved to 6-0 this spring. She compiled a career-high 13 saves to go along with four ground balls in the Knights' 10-8 upset of No. 9 Ithaca on Saturday. She also made six saves in Tuesday's 15-9 victory over RIT.

This week's Offensive Athlete of the Week is Hannah Marafioti. She totaled five goals, including what proved to be the game-winner, and an assist in the Knights' 10-8 upset of No. 9 Ithaca on Saturday after notching three goals in the squad's 15-9 win over visiting RIT on Tuesday.
