Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week released

CORTLAND, N.Y - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. This week's recipients were chosen from nominations from around the conference.

Geneseo's Shayna Held has been selected as the Women' Field Athlete of the Week. Held won the heptathlon (a combined track & field contest made up of seven events) at the Cortland Classic Invitational on Sunday. She completed the heptathlon with a program-record 4,685 points, which marks the fourth-highest total in Division III this spring.
 
Plattsburgh's Elisabeth Plympton has been chosen as the Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Enroute to three top-three place finishes, the Plattsburgh native also posted three qualifying times for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference meet (AARTFC). Plympton won the 100-meter in a personal best of 12.22 at the Cortland Classic on Saturday to qualify for the (AARTFC). Her qualifying time in the 100 ranks her first in the SUNYAC and 15th in all of NCAA Division III. Plympton also won the 200-meters in an outdoor track and field personal best time of 25.67 which is also a regional qualifying mark and ranks her 2nd in the SUNYAC. Plympton was the lead off in the women's 4x100-meter relay that finished second with a time of 49.99 which is a regional qualifying mark.
