BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Brockport Athletics held its ninth annual Dancing with the Athletes event on Thursday, April 18th and hosted a packed house of roughly 650 spectators, breaking last year's record of approximately 350.
The athletes hold the event as a charity fundraiser in which each team individually selects which organization they would like to support. The team that wins gets to donate the money raised to their respective organization. The theme for this year's event was "Movies" and each team picked a variety of soundtracks from iconic films. Despite a number of outstanding performances, none topped the perfectly scored "Movie Crashers" who pulled tens across the board. The team was comprised of athletes Liam O'Leary, Ryan Greco, and Charlie Serino of the baseball team as well as Kimberly Lubanski and Sally Rose Holden of the women's soccer team. The Movie Crashers were led by the dance department's Kristen Wegman and Adrianna Grieco. With their win, the team raised over $1,700 for the Golisano Children's Hospital.
