HOUGHTON, N.Y. - Geneseo captured the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's indoor track and field championship with 243.83 points Saturday at Houghton College. This is their 10th SUNYAC title.
Record Breakers:
Elise Ramirez a Senior at Geneseo broke the facility and meet record for the 3000m run with a time of 9:53.15.
Plattsburgh distance medley relay broke the faculty record with a time of 12:41.50
Geneseo's 4x400 broke the meet record with a time of 3:57.03.
Athletes of the Meet:
The SUNYAC honored both the Outstanding Track Athlete and Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet at the awards ceremony following the championships.
The Women's Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet was awarded to Buffalo State's Veronica Kordrupel
The Women's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet was awarded to Brockport's Jessica Craven

Elite 20
The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Claire McMahon from Oneonta was given the award at the championships.
