CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Sate University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) names Geneseo's Elise Ramirez (Nesconset, N.Y.) as Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Plattsburgh's Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y.) as Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Ramirez posted the second-fastest 5,000 time (16:34.47) in Division III this spring during the Bucknell Bison Classic, Saturday. She finished fifth against a field that included Division I, II, III and open competition with the second-fastest time in program history.
Blair finished fourth in the javelin with a regional mark of 38.29 meters (125' 07") at the Southern New Hampshire Penman Relays on Saturday. Her mark is currently first in the SUNYAC, fifth in the region and 46th in NCAA Division III.
