Plympton and Craven selected as SUNYAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Plattsburgh's Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) as its Track Athlete of the Week and Brockport's Jessica Craven (Waterford, N.Y.) as its Field Athlete of the week.
Plympton won four events at the Saints Ice Breaker Open on Saturday hosted by St. Lawrence. She led off the 4x100 meter relay that won with a regional qualifying time of 49.70 seconds. She also led off the 4x400 meter relay that won with a time of 4:19.62. Plympton won the 100 meter with a SUNYAC time of 12.72 seconds and the 200 meter with a time of 25.57 seconds. Her 200 meter time is a regional qualifying mark and puts her in the Top-20 in NCAA DIII.
Craven had a strong weekend at the Hamilton Outdoor Invitational where she recorded three top five finishes. The senior brought home three first-place finishes in the hammer throw, discus throw, and shot put. Craven recorded a 40.25 meter mark in the discus throw, a 12.68 meter mark in the shot put, and a 47.10 meter mark in the hammer throw.
