SUNYAC selects Singles and Doubles Tennis Athletes of the Week
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced Fredonia's Olivia Miller and Cortland's duo of Mia Hayes and Chloe Knapp as Tennis Athletes of the Week.
Miller continued her strong season by going 3-0 on the week at No. 2 singles, including 2-0 in conference play. She started the week with a non-conference matchup, defeating D'Youville 7-6, 2-6, 10-8. She followed that by defeating SUNYAC foes Oswego 6-0, 6-1 and Cortland 6-1, 6-1. The senior improved to 11-1 on the season, tying her own single-season school record for wins in a season. She also holds the Fredonia record for most singles wins with 37.
The Red Dragons' Hayes and Knapp went 2-1 at No. 1 doubles during the week. They started the week losing a non-conference match against RIT 8-5, but they were able to bounce back during conference play, defeating Brockport 8-4 and Fredonia 9-7.
